New research into the tablets people use when connecting to the web shows that the iPad's massive dominance of the tablet market continues to grow. Chitika today released its study of US and Canadian web traffic and found that of the tablet users connecting to the web in June, 84.3 per cent were using Apple iPads. That figure has rising from 82.4 per cent in May. The Chitika figures come out on the same day as Apple's third-quarter results were released showing Apple sold 14 million iPads for the quarter, down from 17 million for the same period last year. While the Apple quarterly figures show a slump in iPad sales, they also show that the company sold 31.2 million iPhones which exceeded analysts expectations.
